If you are ready to open a DC College Savings Plan account, follow these steps:

  1. DOWNLOAD and READ the Program Disclosure booklet.
  2. ENROLL ONLINE
  3. or

  4. DOWNLOAD and COMPLETE the Participation Agreement. SEND one of the following:
    • If you will make contributions directly, mail the completed application and your first check (made out to DC College Savings Plan) to:
      DC residents: DC College Savings Plan, P.O. Box 11466 Washington DC 20008
      Non DC residents: DC College Savings Plan, c/o BFDS P.O. Box 219544 Kansas City, MO 64121-9544
    • If you will make contributions through automatic deposits from a bank account, mail the completed application and a voided check from your account.
    • If you invest through a financial advisor, send him or her the completed application and your first check, made out to DC College Savings Plan.
    • If you want to invest through payroll deduction, download the appropriate payroll deduction form, or call 800.368.2745 and request a Payroll Deduction Form.
    • If you prefer to have materials mailed to you, please call us at 800.368.2745, or contact us with you name and address and we will send you information about the DC College Savings Plan.

An investor should also consider, before investing, whether the investor's or designated beneficiary's home state offers any state tax or other benefits that are only available for investments in such state's 529 college savings plan.
